Tuesday, June 30, 2015: 6/30 Hatteras Offshore Fishing Report

Today was slick calm and the blackfins bit.

My group showed no interest in looking for a marlin but seemed excited about catching blackfin tuna. We caught a pile of them and a handful of dolphin to boot! Thanks for a great trip Roy

Meat fishing was kinda scrappy today but the bills made a decent showing.

I found out late in the day that there were a few dolphin caught in the shallows, but we were in the deep and had some action. Russell caught a 150 pound blue marlin that put on a great show and we hooked another one on a TLD that parted our 30# line. We had one other mystery bite and landed a couple of dolphin. There were several sails and whites caught as well. Thanks for another great trip Mike!

Nice to be back out!

Scattered streaks of grass with random schools of dolphin. I wound up searching out the deep and finally found an edge, and eventually a school of dolphin. Unfortunately we didn't capitalize, but we caught a handful of fish on the troll. There was a scattered billfish and wahoo bite around as well. Thanks Chris!

Fishing has been a little tough the last couple days, but the weather was surprisingly nice!

I wasn't able to get a picture Saturday before our catch was cleaned, but we had a handful of dolphin, about like today. A scattered bite here and there, if you were lucky you found a school of dolphin but that was the exception. There was a lot of current so things could be completely different tomorrow. Thanks Tommy!

Slick calm and GREAT dolphin fishing!

Always love it when something great happens first thing, and today we caught a wahoo on the first line in the water! After that we beat up on a few schools of dolphin. These guys have never seen so many fish! Further to the south there were some marlin bites, so I'm hopeful for tomorrow. Thanks Todd!

Today the wind was out of the north, which cooled things down slightly. It also streaked out the grass, which made it a little difficult to fish.

We found a few schools of dolphin, but they weren't as cooperative as we wished. Still we stuck with it and scrapped out a nice catch of fish for these guys. Thanks for a fun day offshore Jason!

For the was HOT!

However, it was calm, and calm trumps anything I would have to complain about. Fishing was a little scrappy but we got lucky with a few schools of dolphin and wound up with a great catch. Near the end of the day we put the icing on the cake with a 52 pound wahoo. Thanks for joining us Josh. See you next time!

Another gorgeous day in paradise!

Dolphin fishing was good today IF you were in the right place at the right time. We caught a dozen dolphin in the morning, then turned our efforts to blackfin tuna fishing. It was good, and we slammed them pretty good for a couple hours. Better sign of billfish today, further south. Thanks for a great day guys!

Thursday, June 11, 2015: In Honor Of Dwight

Today my good friends from Salisbury came for their annual June trip. Lucky as usual!

It was a little different this year, because since last June, Pop has gone on to be with the Lord. For the last ten years, he has always either been on the boat or sitting in that red Chevy at the dock, counting all the dolphin, and buddy, he never missed a one! Lots of great memories, and I just wanted to honor him in this post.
Dolphin fishing was great again today, and after we limited out, we turned our attention to the blackfins. They were biting too, thanks to all the prayers from Dinah! Thanks guys!

Beautiful weather and GREAT dolphin fishing!

These guys drove all night from PA and we threw them right in to a mega school of dolphin! After we limited out, they decided that heading back in and getting some rest would be in order, so we made it a short day. Enjoy the fish guys!
